About

I had the privilege of designing the makeup for this powerful two-man stage production exploring the cyclical nature of trauma — from childhood abuse to the lasting scars it leaves into adulthood. The story delves deep into mental health, emotional isolation, and the raw impact of postpartum struggles, culminating in a shocking twist that leaves audiences questioning the boundaries between victim and abuser.

My makeup design focused on conveying the characters’ emotional and physical deterioration throughout the play, culminating in a dramatic reveal: a full back prosthetic piece representing severe burns inflicted during childhood. This final moment exposed the hidden pain driving the character’s actions, bringing a visceral, unforgettable realism to the performance.

Trial 1

For my first initial trial I wasn't sure how much top recolour the piece and the intensity of the wrinkles. I needed to do a fitting and watch from the audiences perspective. Immediately from the seats the detail was lost and so was the colour. it needed to be amped up.

Trial 2

For my second trial I had made it bigger and bolder with the colour. Due to the lighting choices and grade of colour I decided to play around with colour theory and how it effected the piece. Though I wasn't happy with it and decided to make it more scattered, deeper/colder in colours

Trial 3 - final look

for my final trial I went wild with the colour. I think before I was focusing too much on how it would look on camera opposed to stage. instead of focusing on the visuals of the piece as a whole I was caught up on trying to do details that weren't going to seen. overall I was happy with the finished piece and so was the director/
