William tell- The gaiety theatre

William Tell (French: Guillaume Tell) is a French-language opera in four acts by Italian composer Gioachino Rossini to a libretto by Victor-Joseph Étienne de Jouyand L. F. Bis, based on Friedrich Schiller's play Wilhelm Tell, which, in turn, drew on the William Tell legend.

My Roles

For this production, I was responsible for creating simple yet effective makeup looks, which required frequent and rapid changes throughout the performance. The nature of the production demanded that some of the makeup be drastically altered between scenes, and I had to ensure these transitions were executed smoothly and efficiently. In addition to the initial application, I was stationed side stage during the performance to oversee and assist with quick changes, ensuring that each actor was transformed in a timely manner without compromising the integrity of the look. This level of attention and coordination was crucial in maintaining the flow of the production

hair extensions and application

As part of the hairstyling process, I created custom braids by hand-braiding hair extensions and applying them to the actors’ natural hair. This involved careful colour matching to ensure the extensions blended seamlessly, maintaining a natural and cohesive look on stage. I focused on both blending and bulking out the hair where needed, enhancing volume and structure while keeping the style balanced and secure throughout the performance. Attention to detail was key in achieving a polished finish that complemented the overall character design.
